West Sussex firefighters forced entry to a house in Sompting to administer first aid to an elderly female who had collapsed.
Worthing crews were called to the property on Saturday, January 16 after reports of an elderly female in difficulty.
Firefighters forced entry to her home and gave her first aid while ambulance crews were on route. She was then placed in the care of paramedics and the fire crews stood down.
Later in the day, Littlehampton firefighters were called to provide assistance removing a man who required medical help from flats in St Catherine’s Road. He was also placed in the care of the ambulance service.
Other callouts on Saturday include Worthing firefighters cutting into walls to tackle fire hidden in cavity of property in Brighton Road, Lancing, at 9:40pm. The burnt timbers were removed and crews stood down.
On Sunday morning (January 17), firefighters returned to the scene of a barn fire, in Findon, where one man suffered smoke inhalation. Crews continued dampening down the site to ensure the fire didn’t reignite.
Steyning firefighters were also called into action on later on Sunday morning to deal with a small fire in an electrical board of a farm building in Kings Barn Lane, Steyning. They used a CO2 extinguisher to put out the flames.
