The Environment Agency said the forecast tide level at Shoreham is also high.

Around 11.15am, water will be close to the tops of the walls around town, and high up the slipways and small amounts of flooding will affect localised areas of Shoreham, including Sussex Yacht Club.

Houseboats along the Riverbank may be affected by the higher than normal tide.

Rain across the region will turn heavy at times this morning, before clearing northwards.

However the warning should miss West Sussex, with Kent and East Sussex affected.
