Football tournament needs you

The organisers of this hugely popular community event are appealing for a volunteer to put together the junior and youth tournament which will be held on Tuesday July 21 and Wednesday July 22 at the Polegrove.

It's five-a-side, and last year around 15 local teams took part.

Chairman of the Carnival Committee Nim Witmarsh commented: "We'd like to find out if anyone is willing to take it on as park of the Carnival weekend and would be most grateful if they would contact us.

"This would be the first year we didn't have the football tournament for many years if we don't find someone - it has been going for at least ten years, and always been very popular. We have got a lot going on this year...the procession theme is Cartoons, and the Party In The Polegrove will be in full swing, it's all sorted and booked up, and that will be a good night for everyone - it will wake Bexhill up, I expect."
