Det Sgt Russ Burgess said: “Akuffo, who also uses the surname Beckley, absconded from the prison and we believe he may have made his way to Tulse Hill in London, although we are are unsure where he may be.

“We are circulating his details because Akuffo, who has been in prison for nine years, has a history of violence. If anyone knows where he is or has any information they should not approach him but contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
