Poetry, music, visual arts, community events and more will be on offer at the free launch on Thursday, April 16, at 7.30pm, with canapés served by Lesley’s Kitchen.

Festival co-ordinator Mella Faye Punchard said: “The programme is coming together brilliantly, with something for everyone, and is the biggest collection of events we have had.”

More than 50 events have registered for the festival, which runs from Saturday, May 30, to Sunday, June 14.

The theme this year is Food of Love and the launch gives festival artistes and event organisers the chance to show a little of what lies in store.

The festival programme encompasses a wide-range of arts and community events for all ages, such as live music, talks, art exhibitions, workshops, fêtes, and guided historical walks.

Adur Festival is a not-for-profit event that celebrates the district’s community and identity, co-ordinated by the Ropetackle Trust and funded by Adur District Council and Arts Council England.

Adur Art Trail, an open house fortnight organised by adurArtcollective, will also be launched at the event.

The annual art trail offers people the chance to meet local artists and buy affordable, original work directly from them.
