Thousands of people turned out to last year’s event and organisers are hoping that this year will be just as successful and raise much needed funds for local causes in the process.

On Tide of Light’s Facebook page it states: “The weather forecast is windy but the fireworks will go ahead unless it is gale force eight which is constant winds of 38mph to 46mph. We’re expecting winds between 16mph and 24mph which is classed as a fresh breeze.”

The afternoon starts off with the funfair open on the seafront and in Montague Place. You can have something to eat at the street food market in South Street before heading off to the free crafting sessions at the Pavilion Theatre. These sessions are aimed at pre-school and first school ages.

Crafting takes place at 3.30pm and 4.30pm and all resources including the light are included.

Fireworks from the end of the pier are at 8pm and the town centre will be bustling with street food and live music all night through to 10.30pm
