Fundraisers go karting for charity

A karting challenge saw learner drivers go bumper to bumper with experienced motorists to raise money for a Bognor Regis-based charity.

The teams of drivers collected about 2,500 for the Martin Finch Memorial Fund when they revved up on the starting grid.

Paul Witheyman and six instructors from PDW Driving School each joined four student learner drivers to take on seven other teams in a fast and furious go-karting endurance race.

The memorial fund was started by the family of Martin Finch after he died from meningitis in December 1999 at the age of 14.

Its aims are to help raise awareness about meningitis, to raise funds for meningitis research and promote goodwill, fun and enjoyment at the same time.
