Fundraising for charity keeps Olivia and friends up all night

A Barnham schoolgirl is being sponsored to stay awake for charity.

Olivia Coppin has invited 13 of her friends to join her in a feast of fun into the early hours of a Saturday morning.

They will be fighting off sleep to raise money for the NSPCC with a combination of movie watching, game playing and soft drinks.

Their sponsored all night session will take place between 7pm on April 27 and 3am the next day. Each hour they stay out of bed will see their amount of backing rise.

Chichester High School for Girls pupil Olivia (12) said: 'I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a fun time but with a serious purpose.

'My mother gives money to the NSPCC and I thought it would be a nice idea to help other children who might not have the advantages that we have.

'The stay awake is also to raise awareness of child abuse and the fact that less fortunate children do not have the safety and happiness that we do.'
