The New Montessori Pre-school, based at The Methodist Church, Tarring Road, welcomed hairy and hairless, large and small additions to their classrooms last Wednesday.

Claire Morgan, school manager, said: “RepTylers, a local family run business, provided a wonderfully engaging and interactive experience for children, and adults, to learn about a wide variety of unusual and fascinating creatures, their diets and habitats.

“The children were also encouraged to handle, stroke and hold these creatures, which they did with increased confidence and wonder.

“The children really enjoyed the whole memorable experience and parents reported much feedback from their children following this visit.”

This animal session was made possible by additional funding introduced with the Early Years Pupil Premium at West Sussex County Council, which is aimed to support children’s development, learning and care.

Pre-schools can also use this extra funding to support additional training or to further invest in partnerships with external specialists, so can make a significant difference to early years settings.
