Gardens win award in record-breaking year

Highdown Gardens, in Littlehampton Road, received the Green Flag Award from the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

Clive Roberts, Worthing cabinet member for the environment, said: “We are absolutely delighted.

“This Award recognises and highlights that people in Worthing and the surrounding area are benefitting from one of the very best public parks of the highest quality.”

This year a record-breaking 1,447 parks have been awarded Green Flag status.
