Gas canisters stolen in Worthing and Shoreham

THERE has been a series gas canister thefts and attempted thefts from various locations in Worthing and Shoreham.

Thieves attempted to steal four canisters from the grounds of Worthing hospital overnight between Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26.

The gas canisters were found lying in the road.

Police said it appears the thieves were been disturbed and unable to take the canisters.

Overnight between Wednesday, April 21 to Thursday, April 22 at Meaker Fencing, Hillbarn Parade, Sompting, four 15kg butane gas bottles were stolen from a cage located in the yard.

In Dolphin Road, Shoreham, a padlock was cut to gain access to seven 47kg and twenty-three 19kg gas bottles.

The total value of this theft was 600.

Police would advise cages containing gas canisters to be securely locked and if possible alarmed or be in the view of CCTV.
