GCSE results: Worthing High School

Worthing High School is celebrating this morning after announcing a further improvement in results this year.

Students have made incredible progress across the board with 62 per cent achieving GCSEs in both English and Maths.

In other subjects, 100 per cent of students passed Biology and Further Maths with A*-C, 99 per cent passed French, and 96 per cent passed Physics and Chemistry at the same level.

Headteacher Carolyn Dickinson said: “We are celebrating excellent results achieved by all our students. Our results have increased again this year through the hard work of both students and staff.”

The school in South Farm Road has a Progress 8 figure of 0.42 which means that students achieved half a grade better than expected for their ability.

The school’s Ebacc figure rose by 9 per cent to 45 per cent. This is the percentage of students who gained a grade A*-C in English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language, and either History or Geography.
