Maria Gonet, Fundraising Manager at the Trust, says they have guaranteed places in the race and are looking for cyclists who can commit to raising £500 for the Trust.

“This fantastic event starts in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100 mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside,” she said. “With leg testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it’s a truly spectacular experience.”

The cycle ride finishes on the Mall in Central London, shortly before 150 professional cyclists race in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey Classic on a similar route. Participants must be able to complete the cycle in 9 hours and cycle safely in a large group of cyclists. There are restrictions on the type of bicycle that can be used.

The Sara Lee Trust provides complementary therapies, counselling and creative therapies to people in Hastings and Rother living through cancer and other life threatening illnesses; with support for their families and carers.
