Girl Guides given a great day full of fun and games

GIRL Guides from across the county flocked to Littlehampton to take part in a day of activities.

About 150 Guides and senior section members, all aged between ten and 25, gathered at The Littlehampton Academy, in Fitzalan Road, earlier this month.

The girls had the chance to get stuck into a total of 15 different activities during the event.

Using the school’s facilities, the Guides had a choice of taking part in everything from tie dying, and creating vintage-style clothing to hairdressing, scrapbooking and other craft sessions.

There was also a series of dance classes and steel pan music taster sessions for them to sink their teeth into on the day, on March 7.

Amanda Teasel, the event co-ordinator, said: “The girls had a fantastic day learning and taking part in the wide range of music, dance and crafts on offer, organised by the talented adult volunteer leaders of our Girlguiding county.”

The girls who attended also helped to create a badge design for the forthcoming county camp, which is set to be held in August.
