Lunaria will now go on to compete at the south east regional finals at Dorking Halls in June, bidding for a place in the UK final in London on July 6.

Teacher Vicki Stitt said: “In September last year, six year-ten students formed the company Lunaria, producing and selling flower crowns, and have created a profitable and very well organised company.

“The students have made all the decisions about their company, from deciding the product, company name, creating a business plan, marketing their business, managing the company finances and selling to the public.

“The team were mentored by business advisers Malcolm Consterdine and John Addicott, who have brought a wealth of business knowledge expertise, and supported by Roz Merrick, work experience co-ordinator at Davison High School.

“At the county finals earlier this month, Lunaria also came away with awards for best TV advert, best report and accounts, and highly commended for their trade stand.”
