A woman who fell down the stairs died accidentally, an inquest heard.
The body of Mary D’Ath, 75, who lived alone, was found by police on August 7 this year.
She was found up against a bookcase at the foot of the stairs at her home in Manor Road, Worthing.
The police were called by a friend that was meeting her that day, and had rung her doorbell but got no response.
The post mortem said she died of positional asphyxia and blunt head trauma.
The coroner’s conclusion was that her death was accidental.
