SUSSEX GUILD: At Michelham Priory until Sunday Sussex Guild members and invited guest exhibitors show a variety of unique crafts: including: ceramics, jewellery, furniture, glass, metalwork, textiles and wood. However, it is the craft demonstrations that make this craft show really special. Demonstrations will include: creative textiles, glass working, patchwork, quilting, smocking and woodturning, together with several potters showing their different skills. There will be two potters demonstrating on the potter's wheel, a ceramicist decorating her pots and, for the first time this year, a raku kiln firing. Admission to the house and gardens includes the contemporary craft show which is sited in the Elizabethan barn and in small marquees on the lawns. 5000+ HOUSES IN ARLINGTON PARISH: There will be a meeting of Arlington Parish Council on Thursday August 18 at Upper Dicker Village Hall at which matters relating to the WDC proposal for 5000+ houses in Arlington Parish will be on the agenda.

DICKER DAY: On June 26 the sun shone and people flocked to Dicker Day at the village hall field. There were plenty of stalls with food and drink of all sorts and plenty of activities. The races were very popular with both participants and spectators. Tug o’ War bouts were fiercely contested, Upper Dicker men were unbeatable. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a fun day and to all those who came. Next year Dicker Day will be on Sunday June 25.

ACTIVE PLAY: During the Summer Holiday there will be Active Play Sessions every Wednesday and Friday until 24 August at Hellingly Country Park from 4pm to 5.30pm. Contact Suzanne Collins, Parish Clerk on 01323 461390 for more information.
