History paves the way for new centre

DESIGNS for Arundel's new £1.2m heritage centre have been unveiled. The plans were revealed on Friday as the Duke of Norfolk officially opened the museum's temporary accommodation, The History Store, in the Mill Road car park.

Arundel Museum Society chairman Pauline Carder said she was delighted that the museum had a temporary home and plans were moving forward.

"We can't go to ground for two years and expect a museum to appear," she said.

The museum was forced to move from its High Street home after its lease ran out at the end of last year.
