HM Courts Service: Results list for November 7 to 11, 2016

Jared Allen, 30, of Old Shoreham Road, Southwick, admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend unpaid work and was dealt with for the two original offences, receiving a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and three-month curfew, electronically monitored, from 10pm to 6.30am, for assault by beating in Brighton on January 5, 2016, and assault by beating in Brighton between October 1, 2015, and December 1, 2015.

David Brown, 44, of Hurstfield, Lancing, was discharged conditionally for 18 months and given a Restraining Order after admitting harassment through unwanted text messages, phone calls and visits to a home in Lancing between May 20, 2016, and August 15, 2016. He must pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Russ Carman, 27, of Surrey Street, Littlehampton, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must pay £85 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting driving in Silver Birch Drive, Bognor Regis, on September 17, 2016, while disqualified. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He also admitted driving without a licence and without insurance, no separate penalties.

Timothy Cummins, 39, of Carnation Close, Rustington, was given a community order with Drug Rehabilitation Requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting stealing a British Heart Foundation charity box from Tesco, Durrington, on June 23, 2016; stealing £30 cash from an address in Durrington on September 14, 2016; and fraud by false representation, using a bank card without permission. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £85 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting assault by beating in Durrington on September 14, 2016.

Louisa Stevens, 59, of Ivydore Close, Durrington, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must pay £85 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting two charges of assault by beating in Worthing on August 14, 2016.

Cobaine Holden, 20, of Longships, Littlehampton, admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend induction appointments. The order was revoked and he was fined £73 for the original offence of possessing 22.4g of cannabis in Rustington on August 11, 2016. He must also pay £75 costs.

Robert Black, 61, of The Marlinspike, Shoreham Beach, was fined £250 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (70mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Ferry Road, Shoreham Beach, on October 12, 2016. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Luke Newsom, 29, of Applesham Way, Portslade, was given a community order and must carry out 250 hours’ unpaid work after admitting assault causing actual bodily harm in Lancing on August 5, 2016. He must pay £700 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Sukhjit Athwal, 46, of Binsted Lane, Binsted, was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and 12-week curfew, electronically monitored, between 8pm and 6am, after admitting drink-driving (143mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Nyton Road, Westergate, on October 17, 2016. He must pay £115 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and was disqualified from driving for 36 months.

Benjamin Crabb, 23, of Coldharbour Lane, Patching, was fined £245 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drug-driving (3.6 Delta-9-THC) in Vicarage Lane, Littlehampton, on August 27, 2016. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Joseph Hanlon, 24, of Suter Gardens, Littlehampton, was fined £170 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting possessing 9.2g of cannabis in Bosham on October 10, 2016.

Tristan McTaggart, 24, c/o Adelaide Square, Shoreham, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after admitting possessing a quantity of cannabis and cannabis resin in Teville Gate on October 24, 2016, and resisting a police constable in Teville Gate on October 24, 2016.

Ashley Simmonds, 32, of Guildford Close, Tarring, was fined £130 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (44mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Worthing Road, Littlehampton, on October 22, 2016. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Rees Leverton, 25, of Littlehampton Road, Worthing, was given a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, and four-month curfew, electronically monitored, between 9pm and 6am, after admitting harassment without violence, including numerous emails and voicemails, between May 11, 2016, and June 1, 2016. He was also given a Restraining Order and must pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Craig Slater, 26, of Manor Court, Rustington, was fined £250 and must pay £100 compensation, £30 victim surcharge, and £85 costs, after admitting assault by beating in Worthing on July 8, 2016.

Philip Wye, 40, of Madeira Avenue, Worthing, was fined £140 and must pay £30 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (79mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Sompting Road, Worthing, on September 10, 2016. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months.

Serguei Kazanskikh, 57, of Howard Road, London, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £300 costs, after being found guilty of disorderly behaviour while drunk at Lancing Railway Station on June 10, 2016.

Richard Collier, 26, of The Old Post Office Cottages, Main Road, Yapton, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 50 hours’ unpaid work after admitting drink-driving (55mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Wick Street, Wick, on September 16, 2016; and drug-driving 2.2 Delta-9-THC) in Wick Street, Wick, on September 16, 2016. He must pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was disqualified from driving for 16 months for the first offence and disqualified from driving for 12 months for the second offence. He also admitted driving without insurance or a licence, no separate penalties.

Matthew Fulker, 38, of The Poplars, Littlehampton, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 50 hours’ unpaid work after admitting being involved in the production of cannabis in Gloucester Road, Littlehampton, on March 17, 2016; and possessing 5g of cannabis in Gloucester Road, Littlehampton, on June 8, 2016. He must pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Ellen Beadle, 45, of Wordsworth Road, Worthing, was fined £100 and must pay £20 victim surcharge after admitting driving over the 30mph speed limit in Broadwater Road, Worthing, on March 12, 2016. Her driving record was endorsed with three points.

Ashlea-Anne Bacon, 26, of Gratwick Road, Worthing, was fined £285 and must pay £28 victim surcharge, £500 costs, after being found guilty of driving without due care and attention in Montague Street, Worthing, on February 23, 2016. Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

Michael Davies, 28, of Manor Road, East Preston, was fined £400 after admitting resisting a police constable in Crawley Road and Fitzalan Road, Horsham, on May 7, 2016. He was fined £600 and must pay £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting driving in Fitzalan Road, Horsham, on May 7, 2016, without insurance. His driving record was endorsed with six points.

Gary Mobsby, 58, of Brighton Road, Worthing, was fined £300 after admitting failing to ensure seven front doors to flats in Shelley Road, Worthing, provided adequate fire resistance. He was fined £300 after admitting the lobby at the property, a house in multiple occupation, did not provide adequate fire resistance. He was fined £300 after admitting the stairwell did not provide adequate fire resistance. He was fined £300 after admitting the partition between Flats 1 and 2 did not provide adequate fire resistance. He was fined £300 after admitting failing to protect the occupiers of three of the flats from injury due to low windowsill heights. He was fined £300 after admitting the communal banister was not kept in good repair. He was fined £1,000 and must pay £100 victim surcharge, £2,338.31 costs, after admitting the property’s fire alarm was not maintained in good working order. An inspection of the property, which he manages, was carried out on February 29, 2016.
