Homelessness charity provides Christmas dinner

A WORTHING charity made sure its clients had a hearty meal on Christmas Day.

Worthing Churches Homeless Projects tried to make the festive period a happy and positive time for its service users by providing meals and presents.

Seventeen people had Christmas lunch at St Clare’s Day Centre, in Marine Place, and 58 additional meals were provided for people across the rest of the projects.

The charity received a vast quantity of donations in the build up to the festive period and as a result was able to provide a Christmas with all the trimmings for homeless and insecurely housed men and women.

Abi Harley, community fundraiser for Worthing Churches Homeless Projects, said: “Worthing Churches Homeless Projects wishes to say a massive thank you to all the businesses, churches, community groups, schools and individuals that donated items of food, money, clothes, bedding and presents to their projects.

“We have found it truly staggering the generosity of members of the local community and been blown away by the quantity of donations the charity has received.

“It has all been greatly appreciated and helps us provide the best Christmas possible for our clients, we thank everyone who donated.”
