HOTCATS celebrate half-century in style

RYE and District Hotels and Caterers Association (HOTCATS) marked half a century last week.

The group celebrated the milestone by holding a black tie dinner at the Hope Anchor Hotel.

The venue took on a special meaning as it was at the Hope Anchor that Tony Mann founded the organisation in 1961.

Most people will know Tony from his ownership of the famous Flushing Inn and to this day he is still President of the Association.

Current HOTCATS chairman John Smith presented Tony with a commemorative bowl specifically produced by Rye Pottery to mark the occasion.

John commented: “The evening started with an excellent champagne reception followed by a sumptuous three course dinner which was hugely enjoyed by all the HOTCATS members who attended. The evening was considered by all to have been a great success.”
