Hotel’s ceiling collapses
THE ceiling of a Worthing hotel collapsed this morning.
Firefighters were called to the Burlington Hotel in Marine Parade earlier today, after a five metre-square section of ceiling collapsed near to the hotel’s entrance.
Watch commander Ian Spawton said there was a report of an explosion prior to the collapse.
Two fire engines and an aerial platform attended the hotel.
Workmen are currently on site.
The hotel said it would comment after the weekend.
