House struck by lightning in Worthing

Emergency services receved multiple calls this evening (Friday June 17) in the Worthing area due to the thunderstorm and heavy rain.

A house in Chute Way, Salvington, suffered a lightning strike, causing a fire in the roof.

Two women were also rescued from their car which was stranded in flood water on the A27 Arundel Road.

There were long delays for motorists while fire crews helped the women
