Hundreds raised for Sussex hospice

OVER £400 was raised at a fun football event in support of Chestnut Tree House, the only children’s hospice in East and West Sussex.

The event was organised by 30 year old Jamie Westley from Lancing, who became involved with fundraising for the hospice through his job at the G4S security company.

Jamie has raised over £8,000 for the hospice over the last year, and organised this charity football match to be held at Worthing Football Club.

Dancing on Ice and X Factor runner up Ray Quinn was also in attendance, along with Olympic diving medallist Peter Wakefield and Miss Brighton Angel Collins.

Terrina Barnes, corporate fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, said: “The event went really well, and the weather was absolutely beautiful.

“On the day, we raised £450, but donations are still coming in so we are still counting.”
