Tony Bradford, managing director of Sussex Learning Solutions, set-up the courses for 38 people, as part of the Seaconomics project, in conjunction with Worthing Borough Council.

Those who passed the Level-two awards were presented with their certificates by Worthing mayor Bob Smytherman last week.

Mr Bradford said: “We have had a wide variety of people taking-up the opportunity, from accommodation providers to restaurants and cafés.

“The courses were totally free of charge, and it’s great we have 38 trained people to go into the town’s businesses.”

Mr Smytherman added: “The tourism industry is really close to my heart, and I want to congratulate everyone who passed the course.”

The training took place at Heene Community Centre, and FOOD, in New Street, Worthing.

Additional courses will be arranged later in the year.
