Tomorrow, Saturday February 16, there is a table sale in Icklesham Memorial hall from 10am to 3pm. It is in aid of the village’s new sports pavilion fund. The village came together and voted in favour of a new pavilion and a lot of money is needed for this to be achieved. So come along and grab a bargain and help the fund at the same time.

Fifteen tables are booked and thanks to everybody who has helped> plus delicious home backed cakes will be on sale as well as teas and coffees. If you do no live in Icklesham there is plenty of free parking on the recreation ground just off the A259. For details ring, 01424 814401.

Next to the hall the new activity area is close to completion. This is sure to be an extra bonus to anyone booking the memorial hall for a children’s party.

The Planning Committee of Icklesham Parish Council has fully supported the Icklesham Store stressing it’s great benefit to this community .

Sunday February 17 at 10.30 is Parich Eucharist in All Saints.

Sunday February 17 from 4 to 6pm at the Queens Head is live music from Kent Duchaine with Blues from the USA.

Friday February 15 the Good Companions meet in the Memorial Hall fro games, good company and tea and biscuits. For details ring Eric on 01424 814809.

Friday February 22 from 12.30 to 2pm in the Memorial Hall the Lent Lunches start. For the six weeks of Lent meals consisting of homemade soup, bread and a variety of cheeses. Everybody is welcome - just make a donation to the week’s charity.

Have you got used to the wind farm and its 26 turbines? Will you notice a few more? There is a proposal for six more wind turbines at Snave, which is a hamlet on the road between Brenzett and Ashford.

The farmland is used for turkeys and belongs to the Crown Commission which produces money for the Royal Family’s income. Does Prince Charles have an opinion about wind farms?
