Member Tim Boxall, of Liverpool Terrace, Worthing, said: “We will primarily be collecting but we are there to raise as much as we can for this worthwhile cause, so if any member of the public wants their bags packed, help with trolleys, or just to have fun, we will always oblige.

“It is all about making the day eventful and happy for the community for everyone and, at the same time, to ask folk to support those affected.”

Iconic Legion operates across the south and members build and sew their own costumes for fun, to entertain others and raise money for charity.

Tim added: “We have been invited by Morrisons Worthing to assist in collecting to help those affected by this terrible disaster that has had such an impact on our community and has left a lasting legacy on so many lives.

“There will likely be even more of us coming, due to the local nature of the cause, and as we want to build on the £50,000 we have raised in four years.”
