Information sought over Worthing station bomb hoax

CCTV images have been released by British Transport Police of three men after a bomb hoax was made at Worthing station over Christmas.

At around 10.45pm on Monday, December 29, a man called 999, telling police another man had left four bags at nearby West Worthing station and that ‘everyone had run away screaming’.

Detective Constable Vanessa Cottington said: “Who are the three men in the images from Worthing station?

“Shortly before the 999 call was made, five men and a woman were seen on platforms one and two.

“The group travelled to Brighton by train following the phone calls.

“Bomb threats cause unnecessary alarm and take-up emergency service time that could be used handling incidents elsewhere.

“I want to identify these men and urge them to come forward, so that they can be ruled out from enquiries. If anyone knows who them, please contact BTP.”
