Kettle on for charity at Worthing funeral director

A FUNERAL directors is to host a tea party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Staff at Jordan & Cook, in Elm Grove Worthing, will be putting on the kettle and serving food on Wednesday, July 9, as part of the charity’s Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising initiative.

Coffee and tea will be available from 10am to 4pm, as well as a range of homemade cakes and savouries, in exchange for a donation to the charity. Funeral director Marc Labrum said: “We always have a really good turn out from the local community for any charity event that we host.

“I hope that local people will come and join us for a coffee or cup of tea and and a slice of homemade cake to help raise funds for this worthy cause.”

Marie Curie Cancer care’s Meaghan Annear, said: “We really appreciate the support of Jordan & Cook. Hosting a tea party is a fantastic way to support our nurses.

“It is thanks to events like these that encourage the local community to donate to Marie Curie that we can ensure more terminally ill people can receive care when they need it most.”
