Kind gesture lets children go to carols

A kind gesture from a local business has allowed children to safely get to their annual Christmas carol service.

Pupils from St John Baptist Primary School in Findon attended their annual carol service thanks to the Protak Event Services team.

The Littlehampton-based business, which provides security and other services to events, donated their time to temporarily close the A24 so pupils could cross the road to get to St John Baptist Church.

Headteacher Richard Yelland said: “It is incredibly generous of them, we are so grateful. I’m hoping this could be a long term solution.”

Sussex Police withdrew funding for an A24 escort service for the school earlier this year.
