Lancing Horticultural Society show

DESPITE the recent scorching weather not providing ideal conditions for plants, Lancing Horticultural Society enjoyed a good attendance at its summer show.

Organisers blamed the weather and hosepipe ban for the number of entries being down on usual, but a good show was had by all at the event, at Boundstone Community College, Lancing, on Saturday.

Prizes were given out for flowers, shrubs, vegetables and photography.

The winners were:

Jack Rudland, Frank Spring, Mrs Merican, L. Green, H. Woodhams, Monica Blake, Ted Banks, Shirley Norris, M. Sherriff, Mike Button, P. Cottrell, V. Cole, S. Hall, John Hacker, E. Tibbury, J. Seal, R. Yetman, A. Sherriff, C. Battrick, P. Bradford, S. Hubbard, P. Button, D. Wood and E. Tilbury.

Junior class winners were: Riven Wieland, Scott Richardson and Kira Wieland.
