LANCING has not been successful in its application for funding to regenerate its high street.
A bid had been made for the Lancing to become a Portas Pilot Town, but the village was not one of the 12 towns or villages to be given a share of £1 million funding.
Bedford, Croydon, Dartford, Margate, Bedminster, Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, Stockport, Stockton-on-Tees and Wolverhampton were among the areas to be given the funding, while Worthing was also unsuccessful in its application.
However, unsuccessful towns and villages will be given a second chance at applying for funding.
They have until the end of the summer to apply, with the list being announced in summer.
