Lancing named cheapest place to buy a home in West Sussex

New data from Zoopla, a property website, has analysed average property values across the country.

The average property value in Lancing was found to be £276,584, in comparison to the county average of £383,263, according to Zoopla.

This is a price difference of 38.57 per cent – or £106,679.

Lawrence Hall, spokesperson for Zoopla, said: “Many of us may aspire to live in Britain’s most sought-after and expensive counties.

“However with average county property values above the national average, many prospective buyers are priced out, so it’s reassuring to know there are still some locations where value can be found.”

The price of a Lancing property is below the national average of £299,763, Zoopla found.

The study found Feltham topped the list of best value towns in Britain’s priciest counties, with properties an average of £334,716 or 103 per cent cheaper than the Greater London county average, which stands at £659,627.

Surrey’s Whyteleafe came in second place, with properties in the town typically £244,828 less than the county average of £595,459.

Within the ten most expensive counties, Harwich in Essex was found to be the lowest priced town, with property values averaging just £198,556.
