The trip saw the Readers visit locations such as the Rue de Rivoli, the Café des Amateurs and Gertrude Stein’s apartment.

In preparation for the event, the group read a selection from Camus, Sartre and Collette, to Ernest Hemingway, Scott-Fitzgerald, Jack Kerouac, Oscar Wilde and George Orwell.

After the lecture, librarian Mike Morton was on hand to advise on how to start a readers group.
