Little Common newsagents are retiring

LITTLE Common newsagents Gerard and Iris Thompson are giving up after nearly 30 years in business in the village.

The veteran couple, Gerard is 82 and Iris 81, have been forced by ill health to concede to their advancing years.

They have not been able to attend the shop for some time and the business has been run for them by Phil Thirkell.

Though the business will formally close on Saturday, September 1, Mr Thirkell will continue his newspaper delivery round.
