Little Common spring fair

BUSY Little Common Community Centre boasts more than 30 regular user groups.

On Saturday morning members of many of the groups were busily supporting the community association by contributing stalls for the Spring Fair.

There was a queue of bargain-hunters at the door before opening time and stalls were soon bustling in both main halls.

For secretary / warden Mary Berriman and chairman George Ryder it was a heartening sight.

George was soon busily engaged in running the human three-armed bandit with the aid of Playgroup leaders. Little Common Flower Group had an impressive display on the stage. Little Common Horticultural Society's plant stall was in the second hall, where tea and coffee was being served.

Members of the art group had framed examples of their work on sale. Little Common Photographic Club had equipment at bargain prices.

Both morning and afternoon Townswomen's Guilds had stalls as did the table tennis players.

Cakes, books, bric-a-brac and a raffle all helped bring the fair to a 900 result.

More pictures from this event will appear in the May edition of Little Common Extra.
