Littlehampton scoops top award

Littlehampton beach has scooped one of the first ever Quality Coast Awards for being a great place to visit.

The Quality Coast Award is a brand new beach award that recognises the diversity and quality of England's coastline.

Arun district council's cabinet member for Economic and Cultural Development Norman Dingemans said: "It is great news that Littlehampton beach has been recognised as one of the best in the country.

"Residents have always known this is one of the best beaches in the country but it is tremendous to be recognised nationally in the first year of this prestigious award scheme."
