Littlehampton Town Show’s renewed appeal

People who campaigned, successfully, for the future of the Littlehampton Town Show are now being asked to show renewed enthusiasm and help to organise next year’s event.

The show was under threat earlier this year when Littlehampton Town Council wanted to split it away from the Family Fun Day it had partnered for a decade at Rosemead Open Space, and move it elsewhere.

However, following widespread opposition and a petition signed by hundreds of people, the council overturned its decision two months ago and so the two events will go ahead again, side by side, on Saturday, September 14, next year.

More helpers are needed, though, to join the town show committee, which holds its annual meeting on Tuesday, at the Dairy Community Centre, Church Street, Littlehampton, at 7.30pm.

Anyone who would be interested in supporting the show can either turn up on the night or call show manager Alan Humphrey on 01903 725009.
