She will be supported by friends Kirsti Widdows, Sarah Hall and Anne-Marie Simpson on the event, who will also be braving the barnet-shaving fundraiser.

Jessica said: “With dad they did their utmost for him by helping him through all his appointments. They really helped us so, so much.

“So I just thought that it would be a good idea to give back to them.”

She added: “Me and Kirsti do something for charity every year and this was just the perfect event for this year.”

The fundraiser will be taking place at the White Hart pub, in Surrey Street, from 6.30pm.

People are being invited to join the evening and support the friends as they get their hair chopped off.

“It would be really nice if we could have more people coming down and joining us,” added Jessica.

So far, the friends’ campaign has raised about £300 but Jessica hopes to top the £500 marker by the end of the week.
