Lord Stoneham to speak at party

LIB Dem peer Lord Stoneham will give a motivational speech at a summer reception in Lancing.

Jemima Bland, the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for East Worthing and Shoreham, is organising the event for all Lib Dems and supporters in the constituency.

The reception takes place on Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church hall, in North Road, from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Lord Stoneham of Droxford has had a long career in Lib Dem activism and will say some motivational words.

Jemima will also give a speech, and there will be a themed raffle, free wine and canapes, and a live accordion duo.

Among the issues Ms Bland has been campaigning on is threats to the police stations in Shoreham and Lancing.

She has challenged Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne to hold public consultations to ‘hear local people’s views’ before any final closure decision is taken.
