Lottery jackpot for Lancing hairdressers

A group of hairdressers from the Mayfair Hair Salon, in Crabtree Lane,

Lancing, each won a share of the top Thunderball prize on Saturday, March 31.

But salon owner and syndicate leader Jean Rolls had a hard time convincing her colleagues they had won, after checking the numbers in the early hours of Sunday, April 1.

Jean, 59, explained: "I couldn't wait until the morning to call them, but when I told them that we had won they didn't believe me.

"They thought I was playing a joke on them because it was April Fools'

Day '“ one of the girls hung up on me twice before she realised I was telling the truth."

The group's winning Lucky Dip ticket was bought at the Somerfield store,

in North Road, Lancing, and had the lucky numbers six, 13, 20, 28 and 32, with the all-important Thunderball number three.
