Man assaulted in Goring

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the The Strand, Goring, close to the Lloyds Pharmacy, at 10.15pm on Thursday, February 27.

The 24-year old victim told officers that he was walking home when he heard laughing behind him.

He was then suddenly kicked, causing him to drop his mobile phone which broke apart. He was only able to recover his battery and back cover of the phone.

PC Kate Maloney from the Adur and Worthing Response Investigation Team said: “This was an unprovoked attack which has resulted in the victim’s hand being bruised.

“After the victim was kicked, a group of three men or boys passed him. They have been described as all around 6’0” tall. Two were wearing cream or light coloured hoodies and jeans and the other was wearing a dark blue hoodie and jeans.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around this time to contact me with any information which may help with this investigation.”
