Man attacked outside Worthing Library

A MAN was struck from behind in an attempted robbery outside Worthing Library last Friday (February 21).

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, in which a 34-year old local man walking home along Richmond Road was approached from behind and hit on the back of his head at around 2am.

He saw two men standing over him, one of whom kicked him in the ribs. They both then tried to steal his wallet and phone, but a car drove past, causing the pair to stop what they were doing and run off empty-handed.
