Man charged with burglary and aggravated vehicle taking

A man has appeared in court accused of breaking into a Worthing home and taking a car shortly before he was arrested in Southwater.

A police spokesman said Linval Thomas, 46, of no fixed address, was accused of breaking into a house in Lavington Road, stealing the car keys and taking a Nissan Qashqai vehicle from the driveway in the early hours of Sunday (March 13).

Thomas was arrested in Southwater shortly afterwards and appeared at Crawley Magistrates on Monday (March 14) charged with burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Chichester Crown Court on April 11.
