Man charged with Storrington Waitrose incident appears in court

A man charged over an incident at Waitrose in Storrington in April has appeared at Chichester Crown Court this morning (July 6).

Michael Spruhan, 52, of Windmill Copse, Storrington, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and arson with intent to endanger a life.

He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Spruhan has been remanded in custody and a date and location for his trial is to be decided.

His appearance follows an incident at the Waitrose store in Storrington on April 29.
