Man remanded in custody after cocaine seized in Worthing

Police officers on duty in Worthing stopped a vehicle in Liverpool Gardens shortly before 2am on Thursday, August 5, on suspicion of a moving traffic offence.

During a search, a small quantity of what is believed to be cocaine was found in the car and the male driver, the sole occupant, was arrested.

Officers later searched an address in Brighton where they seized 10,000 in cash and what is believed to be two kilos of cocaine.

Querim Bejko, 24, of Redbridge Gardens, London, appeared at Worthing Magistrates Court on Friday (August 6) and was remanded in custody to reappear at Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.

Enquiries by the Sussex Police Serious Organised Crime Unit are continuing.
