Man remanded over Christmas Day murder of Rustington man

A MAN charged with the murder of a Rustington man on Christmas Day has appeared in court today (Saturday, December 27).

Oliver John Parsons, 30, of no fixed address, appeared before Brighton magistrates this morning, in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Joe Lewis at Warwick Mount, Montague Street, Brighton.

He has been remanded in custody until Monday (December 29) when he will appear before Guildford Crown Court via video link from HM Prison, Lewes.

Mr Lewis was stabbed on Christmas Day at 1am. He died from his injury

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a stab wound to the heart.

The results of toxicology tests are still awaited.
