A driver was cut free from his car after driving through a fence into a front garden in Manor Road, Lancing just before 11pm last night.

Two crews from Worthing Fire Station were called to the collision, which involved one car.

They extracted the man using hydraulic rescue equipment. The roof of the black car had to be cut off.

He was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance.

A large piece of timber went through the conservatory of the house.
