A man was left seriously injured after an assault in Worthing, police have said.

Officers said they were called to reports of a fight in Warwick street at round 2am this morning (Sunday June 12).

A police spokesman said a man was treated at the scene and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sussex Police said a man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
