Man seriously injures hip in basement fall

Fire and Rescue has helped free a man from a basement in Victoria Road, Worthing this morning after he fell down a flight of stairs in his home and seriously injured his hip.

A partition wall had to be removed in the basement to make room for the rescue.

A crew used a basket stretcher to remove him.

The operation took an hour and a half.

Fire and Rescue assisted paramedics until the man was taken to hospital.
